Life in Mexico City is new, mysterious and definitely exciting. While I try to get use to this new lifestyle, like any other travel, I am also learning about myself. Current mood: Black and white – my colors stick to me and my closet in times of transition and dramatic changes.
I want to invite you all to learn with me about this enormous yet beautiful city full of culture, extraordinary people and incredible sights and architecture.

The lower the temperature the higher the boots – that is my new motto. Also, the chunkier the sweater… definitely. My skin and body never got use to the extreme low temperatures in the city – no matter how many layers or heat-patches I wore, the cold got me every single time. Thank God for the extra thick modern fabrics! I am amazed that in situations like Fashion Week, no matter the rain, snow or dry-cold air, people will still managed their ways to look fabulous! I personally thought in keeping myself warm, I even had to grab an ultra hot cup of coffee every time and even with that I got compliments – who would’ve known even coffee could be an accessory. Only in New York.
Luckily I ran away from the cold and came back home – no more layers for a while yet I definitely left a part of me under that snow.
Home is where the heart belongs – I strongly believe in that. No matter what you do or where you do it, sooner or later if its meant to be you will always find your way back. Even as my dad says: “A star will always shine no matter from where you see it.”

Uphill battle, I look good when I climb
I’m ferocious precautious
I get crackadotious, I’m not gonna stop
I like the view from the top

You talk that
Blah blah that la la, that rah rah sh
And I’m so done, I’m so over it
Sometimes I mess up, I eff up, I hit and miss
But I’m okay, I’m cool with it

I still fall on my face sometimes and I
Can’t color inside the lines ’cause
I’m perfectly incomplete
I’m still working on my masterpiece and I
I wanna hang with the greatest gotta
Way to go, but it’s worth the wait, no
You haven’t seen the best of me
I’m still working on my masterpiece

Oh Spring break! Feels so different once you’re out of school. It actually feels just like another week of the year, only that all stores, beaches and restaurants are packed with people for what I rather stay home with a Venti iced green tea latte with soy milk and a good movie. Yes, that’s my updated spring break.

However, even out of college I’m still thinking of going to the beach; this white-on-white spring trend makes me feel fresh and clean, and it’s the perfect excuse to get a tan. Another massive event taking place here in Texas this week is SXSW. Last year was a blast working with CollegeFashionista X Michaels, so this year I’ll be on the other side of things.

What are your plans for SB? Whatever they are remember to be safe and feel fabulous!

December 2013 is officially my favorite month for 3 reasons: Holidays, my #23 birthday and Graduation. Yes, I can proudly say I’ll finally be a graduate in Advertising and Public Relations from the University of Texas Pan-American. So many events and so little time to think about outfits, however black and white will always do the work. Thank you, Uniques, for the wonderful taste in clothing. Ready for the holiday celebrations? It’s definitely the most wonderful time of the year!

I started writing for CollegeFashionista since January and it’s been an amazing journey. The experience and the doors that it has opened have been more than what I expected. These are the first pictures I took as a Style Guru to promote CollegeFashionista at UTPA, along with my friends and Style Guru co-workers. This outfit is one of my favorites. I like it because of the flirty and feminine touch that the hat and A-line leather skirt give to the outfit – perfect for the transition into the fall season. Not many people like wearing leather but it is suitable for any age and shape; it is just about finding the perfect fit. Combined with ankle booties, this outfit is great for a brunch day or a birthday party.
