Gotta Keep Your Head Up

Coat: H&M / Top: Asos / Pants: H&M / Sunnies: NastyGal / Shoes: Elizabeth & James
Photography: Pepe Almazán
Finally I could get my hands on these incredible photographs that, my friend and professional photographer, Pepe Almazán took of me when I was living in New York City.
By seeing how amazing this photos turned out to be, not only gave me a smile on my face but it brought a tear – lot of mixed emotions! It is funny how in less than a year a lot of things can happen, things you never thought of and how different yet mature you can turn out to be.
I am blessed and humble by all the opportunities that life has brought me and all the lessons I have learned throughout this year. I am even more grateful to all the people that has stood by my side during good and bad times and all the incredible new people I met during my journey that I now call friends.
I look at these photos and hold on to those happy memories I lived and I feel proud of all the things I have accomplished and yet the ones I’m still aiming.
Like my photos, I stand head-up-high just going forward… and of course, with a fabulous look!
Love,
S

Before the fresh breeze of the Fall hit the city, I needed to wear my favorite baby blue midi skirt. Although at the beginning I felt half-naked, I must admit this is one of my favorite looks – flirty, girly and polished. This proves that getting out of your comfort zone sometimes can turn into something great.
Where did I wore this outfit? Well, I needed to take advantage and wore this beauty for Ricardo Seco’s fashion show. Yes, a genius/proud mexican designer presenting his collection at New York Fashion Week.

Mexico is rich in culture, colorful clothing, delicious food and joyful people, so this look is just what I needed to wear to represent my country in such an important event. I added a white crop top to make my look more bright and girly; the lace detail on the bottom creates a silhouette that makes the look more sophisticated for the occasion.

Nothing makes me more proud of my country than when I see people fighting for their dreams and making them happen, and so is the case of Mr. Seco and his “Dream” collection presented at the World Trade Center during New York Fashion Week. It was an honor being invited to such an amazing presentation. Looking at his Sporty-chic black and white looks walking down the runway combined with colorful accessories that represent our mexican culture brought a smile to my face and reminded me proudly that #wearemexico !

Walking on the streets of Manhattan is always exciting. On my free time I love to carry my red Nikon camera and see what new perspective and stylist tips I can grab from the streets – therefore my blog “The Street Styler.”
Well, this time was the beginning of Fashion week and while I was walking towards the Lincoln Center, I could see the extra glamorous details in some peoples clothes and accessories – while I kept walking it was not only one out of five in the street but even groups of people with extraordinary sense of style as if they were taking from a magazine ad.
The closer I was to the Lincoln Center, the more contagious was the environment of truly Fashionistas walking around and making the street their runway. Woman with transparent boots, oversized puffy skirts and even some of them walking with their dogs as accessories – and the boys with clutch bags, ridiculous cool sunglasses and extra layers of shirts that made them the perfect gentleman look.
New York Fashion Week is always the most expected time of the year for the fashion industry, is like a wake up call for every one involved – be it magazine editors, public relations companies, designers and models to even bloggers, make up artists and upcoming designers. It is the time where standing out is a challenge and taking your network seriously is the key to succeed.
There I was walking around Lincoln Center with my red camera matching my red lips, ready to take some shots for today’s post. I must confess I was nervous about of the unknown but once I got there I felt I was finally in the right place. It is a breathtaking experience and luckily for my first day in fashion week, it was easier and fun as it looks like.
