In honor of Valentine’s Day which is around the corner, I wanted to write this post. Even though my Valentine’s is a couple miles away from me right now, it doesn’t mean I have to stay home in PJ’s, drinking wine and watching Netflix… well, that sound like a great plan BUT it is also a day to celebrate friendships.
As I mentioned a blog before, after-college life is when you start meeting people of your own – those who understand how bad you need a glass of wine at 3pm, those who laugh with you even though they don’t get the joke (language barriers,) tell you what shoes to wear with an outfit you thought you would never try, those who would tell you how crappy you look and glam you up in the moment and most importantly, those who are there to listen to your struggles because they might be going through the same. Joel, from Moorehisstyle.com is definitely one of those friends… can’t you tell? I feel so blessed to have people like him in my life and I have a feeling these friendships are going on forever.

To all my fashionable-new-life-lasting friends: I LOVE YOU & Happy Valentine’s Day!

Love,
S

I’m so happy I could shoot in this skirt before the snow covered all the streets and make my everyday outfits an always-must-have-tights-on looks from now on… or at least until it gets a little bit warmer. You know how much I love making my outfits somewhat casual yet presentable and feminine for any occasion so, this time I went for a metallic pencil skirt with a plaid shirt and black leather boots to edgy it up. Score! My boyfriend loved this outfit for me, mainly because he is obsessed with Suits right now and reminds him of Rachel Zane – guess I need to start watching the show.
Speaking of suits and business attire, while I have been focus on my job and my career, one of my new year resolutions is to have time for myself and enjoy today. Simple. I have learned that no matter where you are, if you really want to accomplish something in life it is time to stand up and make it happen. Hard work pays off sooner or later so, it is good to enjoy the present – even though one day you are here and the next one you are somewhere else, there will always be ups and downs but everything do it with joy! Take time to do all your work and then grab a cup of coffee and walk around your neighborhood or get a spa day – Anything that makes you smile!
Afterwards you realize that things that stress you out turn out easier and better when you keep a positive attitude around yourself. Don’t wait for tomorrow to realize you missed something important of your days – work hard, be happy and don’t be afraid to wear a high-waist pencil skirt!
Love,

Financial District

Shirt: H&M/ Shorts: American Eagle/ Booties: Candies / Necklace: Simply Vera by Vera Wang/ Bag: Urban Expressions

They say things turn out better when you don’t plan them, and in this case that happened. New York City has everyday surprises and our photoshoot day was all about the uptown subways being closed plus a little bit of rain. We had to work with what we had: Financial District, the place I call home for the summer.

My outfit is for a relaxing weekend. I’m wearing a button down, loose, burgundy shirt, ripped denim shorts, booties and a statement necklace. I love denim shorts and while you can wear them with wedge sandals you can also wear them with the most important asset in the city, booties! That’s right, even in the summer booties are your feet’s best friends. Always remember that even on bad days you can make an ordinary outfit look extraordinary. Always be ready to hit the streets because you never know what the day will bring to you.
Love,
S
