The lower the temperature the higher the boots – that is my new motto. Also, the chunkier the sweater… definitely. My skin and body never got use to the extreme low temperatures in the city – no matter how many layers or heat-patches I wore, the cold got me every single time. Thank God for the extra thick modern fabrics! I am amazed that in situations like Fashion Week, no matter the rain, snow or dry-cold air, people will still managed their ways to look fabulous! I personally thought in keeping myself warm, I even had to grab an ultra hot cup of coffee every time and even with that I got compliments – who would’ve known even coffee could be an accessory. Only in New York.
Luckily I ran away from the cold and came back home – no more layers for a while yet I definitely left a part of me under that snow.
Home is where the heart belongs – I strongly believe in that. No matter what you do or where you do it, sooner or later if its meant to be you will always find your way back. Even as my dad says: “A star will always shine no matter from where you see it.”

S

Uphill battle, I look good when I climb
I’m ferocious precautious
I get crackadotious, I’m not gonna stop
I like the view from the top

You talk that
Blah blah that la la, that rah rah sh
And I’m so done, I’m so over it
Sometimes I mess up, I eff up, I hit and miss
But I’m okay, I’m cool with it

I still fall on my face sometimes and I
Can’t color inside the lines ’cause
I’m perfectly incomplete
I’m still working on my masterpiece and I
I wanna hang with the greatest gotta
Way to go, but it’s worth the wait, no
You haven’t seen the best of me
I’m still working on my masterpiece

Walking on the streets of Manhattan is always exciting. On my free time I love to carry my red Nikon camera and see what new perspective and stylist tips I can grab from the streets – therefore my blog “The Street Styler.”
Well, this time was the beginning of Fashion week and while I was walking towards the Lincoln Center, I could see the extra glamorous details in some peoples clothes and accessories – while I kept walking it was not only one out of five in the street but even groups of people with extraordinary sense of style as if they were taking from a magazine ad.
The closer I was to the Lincoln Center, the more contagious was the environment of truly Fashionistas walking around and making the street their runway. Woman with transparent boots, oversized puffy skirts and even some of them walking with their dogs as accessories – and the boys with clutch bags, ridiculous cool sunglasses and extra layers of shirts that made them the perfect gentleman look.
New York Fashion Week is always the most expected time of the year for the fashion industry, is like a wake up call for every one involved – be it magazine editors, public relations companies, designers and models to even bloggers, make up artists and upcoming designers. It is the time where standing out is a challenge and taking your network seriously is the key to succeed.
There I was walking around Lincoln Center with my red camera matching my red lips, ready to take some shots for today’s post. I must confess I was nervous about of the unknown but once I got there I felt I was finally in the right place. It is a breathtaking experience and luckily for my first day in fashion week, it was easier and fun as it looks like.
Love,
S
