Gotta Keep Your Head Up

Finally I could get my hands on these incredible photographs that, my friend and professional photographer, Pepe Almazán took of me when I was living in New York City.
By seeing how amazing this photos turned out to be, not only gave me a smile on my face but it brought a tear – lot of mixed emotions! It is funny how in less than a year a lot of things can happen, things you never thought of and how different yet mature you can turn out to be.
I am blessed and humble by all the opportunities that life has brought me and all the lessons I have learned throughout this year. I am even more grateful to all the people that has stood by my side during good and bad times and all the incredible new people I met during my journey that I now call friends.
I look at these photos and hold on to those happy memories I lived and I feel proud of all the things I have accomplished and yet the ones I’m still aiming.
Like my photos, I stand head-up-high just going forward… and of course, with a fabulous look!

Crop It Up

Top: Nastygal / Skirt: Zara / Necklace: Serendipia Accesorios / Sandals: Zara

For a nice walk in the park is always good to wear something comfortable and in this case, light weight – oh summer time hot-madness! I spent this weekend with my cousin in Alerces Park here in Mexico City and what-a-weekend we chose to spend outside with the heat above our head.
For that I decided to step out of my comfort zone and wear my typical black and white midi skirt with this Nastygal black crop top I haven’t worn in forever! Yes I might not have the best abs but I love myself as I am and I love playing more with my clothes – adding pink sandals to a kinda-formal outfit was a challenge and not so convincing but hey! I needed some color and nothing better than nice summer sandals to wear for a walk in the park so why not! I was like my personal touch.
Always dare to play your game different, never settle with common.

I’m so happy to announce my collaboration Boga Mexico! This new online fashion magazine invited me to be part of their columnists sections which I was delighted to be part of. I took this great opportunity to explain more about my life and the real meaning behind The Street Styler and the not-so-glamorous yet intriguing world of fashion.
The photos that I included in the article were taken by the amazing photographer Pepe Almazan during his visit to New York City. I went for a feminine-chic look that matched the streets of Soho, my favorite area in the city.
Read the article here: http://bogamexico.com/sara-castillo/ yes, I’m even more happy that I could write an article in spanish again! Hope you enjoy it.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you Boga Mexico for the amazing opportunity and to Pepe Almazan Photography for the collaboration (wait to see more of our shoot on the blog!)

New hair, new home, new life – time to get back to business.
Starting over is always exciting. When I say exciting I mean overwhelming, stressful, courageous, happy, emotional, anxious, and many more I can’t even describe. It is incredible how many different feelings collide in one person during a short amount of time. Making a transition from one lifestyle to another is hard but is about making a goal into reality – years of work giving results to an amazing accomplished goal.
Seems surreal when everything happens when you least expect it but when it happens there is no time to loose, no fears to have. One moment, one opportunity that you have to take or it may fade away – so be strong, give it your best smile and take that step forward that is going to mark the beginning of the life you have imagined.
Time to dress for it!

When I started The Street Styler I thought the website would only be part of my extracurricular activities – my creative way of expressing myself and my independent way to keep updated with the fashion field. Little did I know that opportunities as a blogger come along the way.
I’m so happy to announce my first collaboration as a fashion blogger with Sammydress! This amazing wholesale online shopping destination provided me with this fabulous open back neon green mini dress. I loved styling it with the cut out black shoes and keep it simple with a thin stylish belt to match the shoes. Simple and classy.
If you’re looking to dress for less Sammydress.com is the destination. This website is all about affordable quality so literally what you see is what you get – something hard to find at online stores. Give it a try and let the shopping begin!

Hello March! The month where spring begins and when pastel colors start hitting the streets. I’m not a lot into trends but there’s a je ne sais quoi about Spring that I absolutely adore. Even though the tricky weather doesn’t always let me wear my favorite pair of sandals, it’s about playing with what you have from winter and summer and just mix and match all – period.

As you can see the statement of this post are the coat and hat; simple yet stylish. I might say good-bye to my favorite pink coat once the heat settles in the RGV, but my hat well, you might see my hats… a lot!

What’s your favorite Spring staple?

They say you should take advantage of school and enjoy it as much as you can because once you’re out, you’ll miss it. I loved school yet I never thought I would miss it. Maybe is because these were the first school days and instead of walking to class like the rest of the students I now have to wake up for work… and maybe to the gym. You start changing one routine for another but the good thing about it is that, besides not doing homework anymore, my school visits would be only to hang around with the friends I left, to talk to the professors that taught me everything I know and even to take some photographs like today’s blog post.
Suddenly your four years in college went by and now you’re starting a new chapter of huge life changes that only depend on you. At this point feels like slowly but sure, life is giving a full turn and is starting to settle.  Don’t over think, don’t plan so much ahead; set goals, work hard and let things flow. Sometimes everything turns better than you expect.
