Finally is starting to feel like a real winter, which means pulling out all the chunky sweaters and socks.
For somebody like me that is used to temperatures above 100’s, this is an interesting experience. With the first cold day (which was nothing compare to is what’s yet to come) not even layering all my light-weight pieces was enough.
One thing is going on vacations to Colorado, enjoying the snow and the outdoor activities to come back to your cozy cabin, put on your cashmere pajamas and enjoy a nice cup of hot coco by the fire… well, that just lasts for a couple of days and does NOT happen in our everyday lives so, I definitely need to start working on my real winter essentials.
Chunky sweaters, fur and boots, that’s what comes to my mind. This cute navy sweater with fur on the sleeves is one of my favorites. Not only is appropriate for day-to-night but it is actually really warm in the inside!
Sunday walks around South Street Seaport are becoming my favorite, and now next to my photographer Jessie I will be able to bring you more breathless sights in the city that never sleeps.

Oh Spring break! Feels so different once you’re out of school. It actually feels just like another week of the year, only that all stores, beaches and restaurants are packed with people for what I rather stay home with a Venti iced green tea latte with soy milk and a good movie. Yes, that’s my updated spring break.

However, even out of college I’m still thinking of going to the beach; this white-on-white spring trend makes me feel fresh and clean, and it’s the perfect excuse to get a tan. Another massive event taking place here in Texas this week is SXSW. Last year was a blast working with CollegeFashionista X Michaels, so this year I’ll be on the other side of things.

What are your plans for SB? Whatever they are remember to be safe and feel fabulous!

Hi, I’m Sara and I’m addicted to black. They say the first step is to admit it and, although I’m obsessed with pastel colors, I realize that black is the winning color in my wardrobe. Be it for a long day at work, going to brunch with my friends, taking a coffee break or even for a night out — black never fails me. When I wake up on the wrong side of the bed or simply not in the mood to change, black becomes my best friend during my darkest of hours (no pun intended).

Maybe this addiction will change during the upcoming warm weather. Who knows! However, I’m certain one thing will never change — black will always be the new black.

Let’s talk about clothing! What a dilemma every day when you wake up to your closet and ask the million dollar question, “What should I wear?” You want to wear a blouse and then you remember you used it two days before; instead of putting it at the end of your closet, take it out and accessorize! I believe it is more interesting and original to learn how to wear the same piece over and over with different accessories, than wearing new pieces ever day — and, it saves you money! Just take Olivia Palermo as an example, wear what you love every time you want to in different ways instead of wearing what everybody’s wearing thinking that it’s “fashionable”.

The key is to be organized and selective. An organized closet can help you more than you think and picking your outfit the night before saves a lot of time as well. Remember that it is not about quantity it is about quality. You can have 10 great pieces in your wardrobe that you can mix and match around 25 times! Think about it next time you go shopping.

“I suppose sometimes I regret a trend, but I rarely ever regret an outfit, because at the moment that I’m wearing it, I know how much I love it.” – Olivia Palermo

Simplicity is the key of styling yet adding statement pieces is what makes it special. They say diamonds are a girl’s best friend however, I truly believe a bag is our best friend. As shoes, there’s never enough bags yet there’s always THE bag that hangs with us to almost every place we go. She carries our economy, our beauty, our secrets and many other surprises. It is amazing how many things we carry in our bags and that’s why the importance of investing in a good one that reflects who you truly are… and that matches with most of your outfits.
